Serenity Family Wellness is privately owned and operated by Niccole Shockey, FNP-C, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 18 years of healthcare experience. In May 2025, Niccole opened Serenity Family Wellness to introduce the community to the benefits of functional medicine—a patient-centered, science-based approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of disease.

Functional medicine views the body as an interconnected system, rather than a collection of separate organs, with an emphasis on comprehensive health and well-being. This approach blends the best of science-based and alternative healthcare, aiming to restore balance by addressing underlying processes and dysfunctions. Unlike traditional medicine, which often focuses on managing symptoms, functional medicine seeks to provide lasting health solutions by treating the root causes of chronic conditions.

 

Niccole founded Serenity Family Wellness with the goal of offering a wide array of healthcare services at one convenient and affordable location. As a direct-pay practice, we do not accept insurance, which gives our patients the freedom to make informed decisions about their healthcare without the limitations or hidden costs imposed by traditional insurance models.

Serenity Family Wellness proudly provides affordable care for the entire family, including:

• Routine medical visits: medication refills, lab work, EKGs, and specialist referrals

• Sick visits: flu, COVID, and strep testing; urinalysis; steroid, antibiotic, and anti-inflammatory injections

• Physicals: sports, DOT, and employment exams

• Wellness & aesthetics: IV vitamin infusions, vitamin shots, Dysport, and dermal fillers

• Weight management: customized plans with oral medications and injections

• Hormone replacement therapy: individualized treatment for both men and women
